If you want a faster check-up, or you live far from a government hospital, you can go to a private child development doctor or child psychiatrist. Most big cities have trained specialists. A private autism check-up costs between ₹5,000 and ₹25,000. The price depends on the city and the doctor.
When you choose a private doctor, check that they have training in child development problems. The doctor should ask about how your child has grown and developed, watch your child, and use proper testing tools like ISAA (Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism), CARS (Childhood Autism Rating Scale), or DSM-5 criteria.
